Somewhere between Australia and Indonesia, five Australians holiday on a yacht, when they encounter a stranded asylum seeker vessel. Deciding to tow the boat to safety, they wake to find the rope that connects the two boats has been cut. Fast forward five years and the Australians and the Asylum Seekers meet again, while the unravelling of the question – who cut the rope? – tests each character and the relationships between them.
The world premiere was at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2018, it’s currently streaming on SBS on Demand, and soon to be streaming on Hulu.
